Material Logistics Planner


Details: SUMMARY: Drive efficiency through planning/forecasting a supply model for material and resources that anticipates and adapts to variable demand requirements.  Schedule shall support delivery commitments to customers and highest quality products.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Materials planning and scheduling to support Operations. Optimize materials replenishment plans with supply partners to minimize inventory exposure and meet all demand requirements. Negotiate replenishment plans with supply partners to drive efficiency. Lead materials planning meetings with purchasing and Operations Management to optimize the replenishment schedule. Schedule all shop orders to support production.  Develop and manage a shop order master schedule.  Lead a weekly production scheduling meeting with the Operations Supervisors.  Optimize the shop order schedule to maximize resource utilization. Develop and manage a 9 month rolling materials forecast.  The forecast will include backlog and sales forecast requirements. Meet quarterly with Sales Operations to update the forecast and review large project requirements. Provide SME (subject matter expert) support for the ERP system in the areas of Purchasing, Planning and Scheduling. Prepare and present periodic reports on metrics and key initiative projects.

Material Planner


Details: Purpose of the positionThis position is responsible for assuring, on a continual basis, that an uninterrupted flow of production material is available to support the vehicle production process. The specialist will also monitor inventory levels, expedite material, and audit material adjustment transactions to support a minimum inventory production process. This position will also maintain the bill of material and ensure engineering changes are implemented on time.Essential functionsMaintain inventory record accuracy and integrity for all production parts.Monitor production parts on a continual basis to prevent the occurence of a shortage.Direct and assist suppliers to assure material is shipped in accordance with the material release and that correct communication of shipment is attained.Order all production material, sample parts, prototype trial parts and repair parts through the receipt authorization number (RAN) system.Ensure proper balance otu procedures are followed to minimize obsolescence.Provide new supplier training with emphasis on material release inventory control requirements.Correct and monitor all advanced shipping notice transmissions.Arrange supplier visitation to review their systems and inventory levels in order to maintain compatibility with company's operations.Monitor supplier performance request countermeasures to delivery issues.Investigation, tracking, disposition of obsolete material.Analyse engineering change documentsa nd establish implementation date through coordination with internal and external partners.Coordinate controlled changes and their implementation date on the shop floor.Document implementation dates in the bill of material through the use of local adopt dates.Support the part broadcast by doumenting receiver groups in dialog.Analyse the bill of material to ensure the correct parts are available at the correct time for pre-series and series productino.Verify that changes to be implemented are in schedule.Verify the implementation of controlled changes through the engineering change of control meeting.Determine the affect on the bill of material when dates are not met and develop countermeasures.

Planner/ Materials Analyst


Details: Kelly Services is looking for a great candidates for a Planning Position we have at a client in South Charlotte.  This position is responsible for balancing the support of production needs by assuring adequate levels of inventory are on hand to meet customer demands.  Collaborates with the Material team to ensure the timely execution of materials and cost goals. This position must be able to handle multiple projects and able to work overtime as needed.  Must have 2-5 years experience in planning within a manufacturing environment.  This will be a long term contract position that will start ASAP.  The pay range is $17-$19/per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support plant on time delivery and production productivity by having material on hand to support customer requirements. Assure accuracy of transitions such that invoice exceptions and negative inventories are kept at a minimum. Resolve invoice issues. Assure inventory accuracy through cycle count programs, analyzing Bill of Materials and controlling other transitional processes  Act as first level escalation point for supplier releases and follow up as necessary Prepare and issue purchase orders, or work orders Manage inventory levels for assigned areas with particular attention to critical commodities, or high dollar items Job Requirements: BS degree in Business or related field Six Sigma and Lean experience preferred 2-5 years of relative experience in a manufacturing environment Must be detail oriented and very strong follow up skills Be very accurate and good working with numbers Be a strong and confident communicator Excellent PC skills, ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently Experience with Oracle a plus Great problem solving skills Must be organized and self motivated The qualified candidate must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also be able to see the big picture.  Needs to be able to think strategically.  Need someone who is professional and can deliver results; must have strong interpersonal skills, a strong communicator and a team player.  Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment on immediate situations with cost policy ramifications.
