Distribution Field Service Engineer / Warranty Administrator


Details: Distribution Field Service Engineer / Warranty AdministratorPOSITION PURPOSE:The DFSE (Distribution Field Service Engineer)/ Warranty Administrator has safety, employee, customer satisfaction, and business/financial responsibilities within branch operations. In addition, the position is responsible for enabling early warning problem detection, investigation, documentation and correction. The DFSE counterpart must understand HHP engine operations to facilitate engine failure investigation and root cause analysis.RESPONSIBILITIES - Distribution Field Service Engineer / Warranty Administrator:SAFETY Know, follow, lead, and enforce all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities. BUSINESS / FINANCIAL Enable early warning problem detection, investigation, documentation and correction DFSE counterpart must understand High Horse Power (HHP) engine operations to facilitate engine failure investigation and root cause analysis. DFSE counterpart takes lead role in local technical investigations of early warning problems with the Factory DFSE being the primary point of contact in these type of issues Lead technical advisor for distributor DFSE counterpart takes lead role in local technical investigations after all published technical resources have been exhausted by the local branch Key liaison between distributor/dealer network and factory DFSE Focal point for component/engine field test activity for assigned territory Through these objectives, the DFSE counterpart will help: Reduce repair variability Improve repair quality Close work orders in BMS Create claims in BMS Set up work orders for filing both warranty and policy claims Identify SRT (Standard Repair Time) Set up MPR (Mining Policy Request) [a database within Lotus Notes] Ability to interpret warranty administration manual Identify needed parts for warranty repair Track open warranty claims Verify payment of warranty claims OTHER Maintain company and product confidentiality. Demonstrate a positive attitude and a high level of personal credibility and integrity with customers, management, and co workers. Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings, and activities as required. Stay apprised of new techniques relevant to the work being performed; achieve and maintain technical competency. Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and rules. All other duties as required.
